My Newest Knitting Project

Sorry this isn't the best quality photo. I took it with my cell phone early in the morning..........Anyway, I saw this pattern on the Youtube channel Very Pink Knits and thought how beautiful it looked but never thought I would be able to to it. Then after watching her demonstrate how it's done, I gave it a try and found it isn't very hard at all.

Now I don't know if I would recommend a beginner knitter try this one, but it is pretty easy for someone like me who has been knitting for a few years and if you are familiar with knit, purl, ssk, p2tog, k2tog, m1, and how to pick up stitches knit wise and purl wise you can tackle this project with confidence. And if you need a refresher course on how to do these stitches, she shows you how in the video.

Of course the pattern is using a self striping yarn, which makes the resulting scarf gorgeous, but I didn't have any of the type of yarn that the pattern used so I am using a cream colored wool. I think it works up very nice in this solid color as well. The pattern really stands out beautifully.

I am sharing this picture on the Stitch & Unwind website where they are having a giveaway that is ending today. Go check it out quickly and enter fast before 11:59 pm today 10/12/13. And good luck.

So I will be sharing the final project when I get it done, not sure when that will be, but keep checking back to see.

Are there any other knitters or crocheters out there?  I would love to see what you have been working on.

Have a great day.

  1. Sally Ann,
This looks so difficult to me, but the texture and gorgeous basket weave would make it a nice challenge for my daughter. I am struggling with a pair of booties at present, and just know my level of competency would not permit me to get this technical :) *nervous laugh* Actually, I think your photo is very nice. Thank you for encouraging others to 'do hard things'! Blessings!

  2. Jacqueline, when I first looked at it I thought it would be difficult too, but once I watched it being done on the Youtube video I caught on quickly.

Oh goodness, I just realized I didn't link up with that video. Thanks for helping me realize that. I will fix that right away.

I would love to see your booties when they are done if you wouldn't mind sharing a picture.

    Have an awesome day.
