Our train ride

My family and my twin sister and her husband and youngest son all went on a train ride.  We rode the Adirondack Scenic Railroad from Utica, NY to Thendara, NY in the Adirondacks. From Thendara we caught a shuttle bus into Old Forge, NY and spent the next 4 hours shopping, walking, eating, walking, and sightseeing.  It was so much fun even though it rained all day.

Here is the inside of the train station.  Beautiful!!

                                           Here is Conductor English.
My son looking out towards the front of the train.
A look out of the back of the train.

Here is what the scenery looked like out the train window along the way and also what the weather was like all day.
The big Moose River that we crossed on the way to Thendara.

We all highly recommend this train ride for everyone.  We felt the price was a little high but we all enjoyed the entire experience.  The train was clean, the staff very friendly and informative, and the snacks they had for purchase were yummy.  And there were lots to do in Old Forge.  Be sure to check out the Old Forge Hardware Store that sells just about everything.
